I'm not real clear what is state and what is federal. I just know that here in Michigan we have pretty decent support from the government - all things considered. When the pandemic hit, we got money and food cards, etc. almost immediately. Plus people over 21 without a degree can go to community college for free.
We need more of that. Things don't need to be so angry and hateful. I don't know how or why they became so bad.

So, you aren’t fully satisfied by the government.
No. But I don't consider them the enemy like those militia weirdos. I'm hoping things get better for all of us.

What’s you take on the government benefits?
Speaking for myself, 914 dollars a month is hard to live on, but I have excellent medical. My rent is 600 a month. Making ends meet is critical.

Hmm, I seem to have missed your posts fussing about the Pali kids that the IDF and Zionist militias kill every year.
You worried about Russian casualties in Ukraine?

Yeah but within the framework of my distorted world-view, Detroit isn't part of Michigan...or even the US. It's a hostile 3rd World city-state within our borders. But it's contained.  And containment (like nuclear waste) is unfortunately the best we can hope for for places like Detroit...or Cleveland...Chicago, etc etc.

It's discouraging. But we have to keep hope. We have families and homes. We have no choice but to keep moving forward.

You have to pass an extensive pre admission testing as well. It’s something like 5000 people competing for 100 spots.

Exactly.

The grass always looks greener on the other side.

They probably give more than that to these illegal aliens.

Nope, they have no business trying to take someone else's land.  Just like....

Not everyone gets to go to college in other places. You have to pass a test in 8th grade.
That's not a bad deal. I wish someone would have grabbed my dumb ass when i was 18 and sent me to trade school or into the Air Force or something so I could have learned a worthwhile skill and how to handle a grown-up job right out of the gate instead of fckng around in Ann Arbor smoking pot and drinking for a few years.

So, you aren’t fully satisfied by the government.
NASA, National Weather Service, the Post Office are the most amazing human agencies since like the Romans.
