Just found out that my cousin Ernie's kid Jake had a really bad accident while at work... He took a 20-ft ladder.... Then braced it on a 15-ft scaffolding.... That's 35 feet up altogether... Then he put an air conditioning unit on his shoulder ... Then he climbs to the top of the ladder and just when he reached the top of that building... The scaffolding shifted.... Jake fell 35 ft straight down..... Onto a pile of construction trash that probably saved his life... Anyway after he landed on the ground the air conditioning unit landed on top of his torso... He has a fractured skull... One broken shoulder one dislocated shoulder.. one fractured knee.. two broken legs... Four fractured ribs and a broken sternum... Two crushed vertebra... And his right hand was shattered by part of that air conditioning unit... Almost every bone in the hand was broken... And the human hand has quite a lot of bones... Jake is of course in intensive care... With a whole lot of morphine in him... In and out of consciousness... What makes this worse is that Ernie said Jake's boss ordered him to do this... The company fired the boss immediately... And they already reached out with a pretty big settlement....$5 million is the first offer.. Ernie called the family's lawyer and the lawyer just laughed... He said $5 million was just a starting point... Anyway Jake is in no condition to discuss the conditions of his lawsuit right now... I would have thought this whole thing was impossible until I saw a guy on YouTube do almost exactly the same thing... Except the air conditioning unit missed him on the way down... The air conditioning unit Jake was carrying hit him straight in the torso... Anyway that was a few days ago I just found out about it myself... Ernie said the doctors told him that Jake will never be completely okay again... He'll always likely be in pain the rest of his life... That's a hard way to earn millions of dollars...

This is funny. I read an article that said the "no kings" bit is largely comprised of educated middle aged white women whose line between "emotional catharsis and civic activism have begun to blur."

"What we’re seeing is a kind of group therapy playing out in the streets,"

I have to drive down to the airport tonight and pick my wife up. That’s going to be intense. I hate it when people are counting on me. I’m so unreliable. It’s terrible of them to put me in that position when they should know better - that’s kind of irresponsible of them.
a nice trip to scenic Detroit should make you feel better..

Two things I refuse to do: Ladders and scaffold.  I'd quit first.  They are never maintained or safe.

The kid had balls I'll give him that... NEVER IN MY WILDEST DREAMS... Would I have had the guts to balance or try to balance a 20 ft ladder on top of a rickety 15 ft tall scaffolding... And then climb up the damn thing with an air conditioning unit on my shoulder...

I wonder if you need some kind of permit or license to get one of these. I really think I'd be more effective at dealing with people if I had one.

I don't think they've got around to that because they didn't think anybody would be crazy enough to consider using it to attack someone. But here we are! 😃

Not attack...defend.  Just pop a dart in their ass, watch them take a few steps and fold and then carry on. It's the more peaceful solution - like Gandhi

Fifty bucks on Temu:

One of my ideas way back when was to open a joint where people paid to come in and race slot cars...mine or their own on different race courses set up inside a building. There would be background music and an area where slot cars and related items were sold and a cafe - and that's where I'd make the profit.  I swear there was a place like that in Detroit when I was a tiny kid. I kind of remember it was across the street from a strip joint where drunk people could pay $7 a throw for watered-down drinks and watch a junkie dance in her underwear. It's quite a scene. Anyhow, I think the slot car idea was a good one except that today's kids are rotten to the core and I'd end up in prison or on TicTok.

The pole barn on the property I sold would have been perfect if I had drive, ambition and shit together...so basically if I was a totally different person.

I really wish they had gummies where you live. They would seriously make you feel better. that's what they do. They're like 5 bags for $20 or something and the bags have 10 or five gummies that add up to 200mgs of THC (whatever that means). But if you eat one you'll feel it - so I usually just eat the whole bag.
