At some point in human history, during my lifetime, the failure rate of household appliances has gone through the roof. I'm on like my fifth dish washer, a dozen tv's, God knows how many phones, five or six washing machines...That kind of shit used to last from the time you were newly wed until after you died and your kids were  using it in their basements. I'm having trouble coming to terms with that. I just bought yet another washing machine to replace the 5-year-old one that is malfunctioning. Somehow, I'm kind of irritated with my wife for having to do laundry and I'm feeling like this is a gift for her when I could be better utilizing that money buying reefer and telescopes. Plus she's living it up in Boston right now and me and a bunch of animals are on the verge of cannibalism.
