It's kind of pathological to try and indoctrinate children into Catholicism. Personally, I rejected it out of hand. The whole matter of trying to get a child to go along with their ridiculous framework of maladaptation under threat from a punishing God is absurd. I immediately recognized that the priests and nuns were completely dysfunctional and maladjusted as people and the clergy was a refuge from their own brand of judgement.
Take direction from them?  I don't think so.
