So far, the tariff bit is mostly just talk...a negotiating tactic that will surely work because...well...the US is everyone's biggest and best trading partner. All that any of these countries have to do is to eliminate their trade barriers. There has been a tradition of America and Americans paying more and giving more because we produce more. That's fine....except that we don't owe anyone anything. If they want a fair and open trade relationship with the world's biggest economy, they need to align themselves with our values. If they hate us, hate our allies, hate our ideology, our religion, our culture....fck them. We are not obligated to do anything for anyone. No ever rushes to our assistance when there's a storm or fire.
