I lived in Tucson for a couple years. That's like kitty-corner in a way that makes it as unlike Michigan as you can get without leaving the planet. It's apparently the mecca of US ground-based astronomy. I couldn't figure that out. The skies here are darker.... It's the weather. You can't go outside here at night in the winter unless you are insane or in the midst of paradoxical overheating and feel like streaking in the snow. Also, it's cloudy pretty much every night until spring. Oh well. I guess the rarity makes it more valuable...like our summers.
