They actually blocked off all the streets so you couldn't drive into the white neighborhoods from Detroit except on major thoroughfares...and we all knew...If you're black and you're on the other side of the wall - you better be wearing a maid's uniform or carrying a rake or you are certainly going to be stopped by the omni-present police.
