You don't think that Hamas is getting just what they wanted?  Again, everyone has seen this movie, we all know the plot.

  if getting slaughtered like dogs and having the Gaza strip reduced to rubble is what Hamas wanted then they are definitely getting what they wanted. It's more likely that Iran is getting what it wanted which is any chance at all the strike back at Israel with no danger to itself.
