"Egyptian blue’ found on Parthenon sculptures at the British Museum"
A new study has found that the Parthenon sculptures, previously thought to be white, were once painted with elaborate designs and patterns on their garments, using colors such as “Egyptian blue.â€
Apparently the statues we see that the Geeks left as well as the ornate carvings on their marble buildings were painted. That must have looked like something when they were new.
