Mandy and me would walk across that river in the summer I liked having my boots under water. I'd fill my pockets with handfuls of the black glacial till underwater to put in a rock tumbler. After you clean 10,000 years worth of geo-grime off them, they're like jewels. Little bits of every color of every rock shield from here to the Arctic Circle. The river's flowing through the trough carved by a mile thick glacier. Everything here just fell out of that ice when it melted. It's awesome, especially this time of year when the snow and ice are melting and the cold water is gushing. It's like being there.
