Thats why all of these guys they have trimming these million dollar houses are right off the boat. There’s not a lot of guys left that do things like them. These guys never even heard of a laser. They’re using hand saws, chisels, block planes. It’s awesome. I’m glad I’m with them. They’re paying me really good too.

He's probably right. That probably is how the Romans did. The thing worth remembering about places and times like Ancient Rome or even way way back. Most of everything they built - by far - was wood and other perishable materials that have mostly just dissolved or burned up. As good as the Romans were at bricks and stone, they were probably better at wood.

I love shit like that. I have a couple of those egg beater drills that you hand crank. The thing about those old tools is they were made before they had the technology to mass-produce cheap shit.  They're all like cast iron, machined, etc

The guy that does my taxes bought this enormous old mansion. It had a slate roof. He had some kind of fire or something where part of that slate roof had to be redone and tied into this maybe 1920's or earlier building. So he was told there are guys that can do it. They are willing to do it but they live in Scotland so it's going to be pricey.

I did have an electric drill. A few of them. Never had an egg beater,  Had to keep the chuck key strapped to the cord.  :D

  I have something wrong with a muscle in my eye and my cataract procedure last year went haywire and caused cataracts in a different part of my eye. That's getting done again June 19th... Then to Duke...for an actual surgery on my eye. It won't be outpatient. Supposed to be a fancy hospital though not like Caldwell Hospital here in Lenoir where everyone goes to be killed.
