Frankenstein:

He had way more shit together than Bela. Karloff's real name was William Pratt. He was English and a quarter Indian (quadroon).

I witnessed this glorious event and then showed the image to my wife. She demanded to know where on our house this was. I wouldn't tell her.

They are our friends

It's that time of year. Forgot to turn the heat back on last night. Feels like being up north.

These are spiderlings (newly hatched baby spiders), most likely from an orb-weaver species such as the Yellow Garden Spider (Argiope aurantia), which is very common in Michigan.
The image shows a classic mass emergence: hundreds of tiny, bright yellow spiderlings clustered on house siding (often near where an egg sac was hidden or attached). This is typical behavior right after they hatch—they stick together initially before dispersing (often via "ballooning" on silk threads carried by the wind).

This one was as big as your hand.

This is a female Yellow Garden Spider (Argiope aurantia), also known as the Black and Yellow Garden Spider or Writing Spider.
It’s the adult version of the spiderlings you showed me earlier — perfect match for Michigan! Would you like tips on how to encourage them in your yard, or info on their web-building habits? Great photos!

I take pictures of spiders for some reason and I've been doing it for a long time...I just realized that. It's weird.

They 'balloon'. That is so great. They let out a stream of silk on a windy day and it carries them off.

I always felt like I was imitating Star Trek with my flip phone. That was the last phone I liked. It was cheap and it just made phone calls….no movies, no ‘apps’.
Life was better.
