I am a sucker for a British accent. Nothing about looks..as long as you're a good guy and speak the King's/Queen's English - I'm on board...just noting I have never dated someone from abroad, although I have been abroad.

I remember the no's.     and 10 years later the I hate you's.     Younger friend of my Mom's was devastated the other day when her 13 yo daughter told her that.  I was like, huh? I used to hear that at least twice a week. per kid.  It's what they do.

How do people get old and forget being teenagers?

I never heard "I hate you"....I did have daughters on the verge of hormonal overload, lock themselves in the bathroom and cry. Hormones are definitely a thing.

That takes more work and money that anyone wants to do.  Or just jack up the min wage.

I believe I have posted this before. As a teen, I read a story in the Poughkeepsie Journal about a homeless man that died under the Hudson River Bridge. He had graduated from Harvard and had fallen upon bad times. That story has stuck with me for probably 50 years. Seriously, we all go through rough times, but navigating our way through that is everything.

I believe a helping hand is everything.

What, you really never heard that?  Shoot, we were the cool parents and still heard it often.  Locked and crying, that too.

We did evil stuff like when old oldest, 14 at the time, announced she had an 18 yo boyfriend.  We said OK, you can see him all you want, here at the house. He stopped by the house once and that was the end of that little rebellion.  No I didn't threaten him, hanging at my house was not something an 18 yo wants to do.  So he was out of the picture and was the bad guy. LOL
