I understand.   My local wally cut the number of self checks by 2/3rds and reinstalled 5 registers a few months ago. And they keep them staffed which is a surprise.

In the end, as good as it might have sounded in a meeting, self checks just cost too much. Between actual theft and folks just not scanning correctly, a lot of stuff goes out the door for free.

Everywhere I go to self checkout someone is at the exit to scan my purchases. I don’t understand the theft if that’s happening everywhere.

Most exit scans happen only if someone is suspected.  Oh they make a show of scanning but no one looks too hard unless they think something is up.

I do most of my shopping online. I’m thinking of joining Krogers Boost so I don’t have to grocery shop.

I wouldn't mind doing that I don't like going out.
