"..Last Thursday I ripped into CNN for releasing a poll with this garbage headline: “Most Americans approve how Trump is handling his return to the White House.”
After looking into the poll numbers, we loudly called them out for cherry-picking results, and heavily tilting this story in Donald’s favor.
Of the mere 1,011 random folks polled, 72% said they were paying little to no attention to Trump-related news. And only a slim majority said they approve of his transition.
But the way CNN spun the story, you would think an overwhelming majority of Americans support Trump. They don’t.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, yesterday, CNN ran another article about the exact same survey. This time, with a completely different tone: “CNN’s latest poll found Americans are divided on how they feel about Trump’s next term.”
Laying out a long list of reasons why folks are “afraid of what’s to come,” the article says that only 32% are optimistic about Trump’s return. CNN had completely changed their own narrative, diametrically opposed to what they said the first time.
But it's too late—the damage is already done. Rightwing media and the maga cult celebrated the original article, and it spread like a wildfire.
And this isn’t about being fair—CNN is trying (and failing miserably) to play both sides. For years, they’ve normalized Trump, and constantly sanewashed his lies and crimes. Now CNN’s ratings are tanking, and they only have themselves to blame.."
