Cops weren't arresting violators  unless the wife wanted charges pressed in fear of a false arrest law suit. The cops were granted immunity from false arrest charges in those situations. Sometimes immunity is necessary.

We have plenty of laws, we just don't apply them equally.   I am a proponent of 20 million dollars as a floor for any misconduct, then up from their depending on the details. Because that is a sum that will get attention and get issues addressed in a timely manner.


BTW, trump want to make it so police can't be arrested or sued, what's your thought's on that?

I think they should be able to be sued. As I mentioned above, NJ cops can be sued individually for violating one's constitutional rights.

They're going to have to know what the constitutional rights are in order to avoid a lawsuit. Makes for better cops.

I don't think there is much Trump can do about state and local jurisdictions. A bunch of bull.

Not so sure about that, many of the lawsuits, and the crimes, are Federal.
