I feel your pain.  Despite the claim that our population is decreasing this whole area is building up.  Parents die, the kids would rather have cash than the farm, some developer buys it, here come the Mc mansions. It's happening at the river, it's happening in the holler, all over the county.

I have maybe one more move left in me, is it worth the hassle just to once again be chased by the mob?
I have 7 acres. I used to own 30 acres next door too. It was nice - big stocked pond, metal pole barn with concrete and utilities, 100 or so apple trees, 22 of it being farmed which covered the taxes. Selling that land is my biggest - maybe only- regret. My daughter was a baby, I wasn't making shit - it was during that 'mortgage meltdown' or whatever it was. Anyhow, there was no work and I freaked out. That land could have saved me and a couple of my neighbors plus funded my retirement.  Hopefully 7 acres is enough to keep people at a distance.

Every nice place in Michigan is like that. It ruins everything. Just more traffic, more junk, more trash.

Man...if those dago builders fck up this whole Walden groove I got going on it's going to be a disaster. They already ruined the sky. South is garbage. The rest is maybe Bortle 4 - which is like suburbs, not hinterlands like we were. I am a witness to the carnage every single day. I'm a foot soldier in the holocaust, a willing participant; but I do so under duress.

It's a GD war crime. Now they want to start building these 'data centers' all over the place.

There is nothing I hate more than being in the middle of 100 acres of half-built McMansions in a sea of mud and see a bunch of geese show up and start looking around like WTF?
Because it's beautiful here they will keep building big expensive houses until it's like every place they moved away from. There isn't fuck-all I can do about it. Now I know how the Injuns felt. I am native American. I was born in Detroit.  I hope I was wrong. Maybe it was a nurse or a maid or something but I swear I saw an Indian out in front of a house on the other side of town. And by Indian...I don't mean Cochise.
 Here we go.

Eventually this land will be turned into a trashy subdivision full of McMansions that are over-priced, poorly built and too close together. The cats and deer will be long gone. There'll be pergolas and plastic lawn furniture. Some Arab teenager racing back and forth in an Escalade that his parents bought him with gas station/party store money on a street where the coyotes used to be. Hopefully he'll find the weed I planted fifty years previously and it will be a gateway to like heroin and he'll die in the gutter. That's what he gets for driving off the coyotes.
Sic semper tyrannis and so forth...sic semper douchebaggus.

I will acknowledge it changed dramatically over the last ten years.. you use to hear of folks growing the funk literally, true couch lock pot, it is different but in all corners.. probably need some old time seeds , good river bank, river fog, river dew, natural earthy sand.. out in the wild like that cannibis plants get hurt by the acts of mother nature.. probably makes the THC stronger
I have a bunch of seeds and I'm going to start planting it all over the place so it grows wild on my property.
