You'd probably wind up right where we are now. Let's say just for the sake of argument that two different entities have a legitimate claim on something. In the history of the human race how would that likely wind up being settled?

actually I believe that applies to you. You simply can't recognize or accept anything that lies outside your hard/core beliefs.
