You own the lake?

I wish - our neighborhood lake, directly across the street. I walk Buddy (dog) around it every day. About 2 miles around.

I hope that you're not too sick w/CoVid. I've picked it up with tumeric/ginger and vitamin C shots. I had a bad infection in my titanium knee in early February, had surgery, had a PICC line for 6 weeks w/antibiotic infusions, and then 6 months of oral antibiotics. I've been working on my microbiomes  and just healthy eating. Started dating someone new, hiking up to 10 miles. A nice change of pace. 😊

I think Putin's just misunderstood. He needs a friend.

Wow man. My homeland has been set upon by a pall of smoke. It's nuts. There's some kind of standing air-quality warning but I'm not interested enough to read it. This isn't really fair because we are the land of no natural disasters, which we feel is owed to us for enduring what seems like inordinately long winters. We don't have wildfires.  Putting up with this would be like our roofs getting torn off because there was a tornado in Oklahoma.  It's none of our business and we resent being dragged into it.
The old Sicilian guy was wearing a mask today so that compounding the almost unintelligible accent left me just nodding like I understood a single word he was saying - and he's a fairly chatty guy.

The annual turtle migration is underway here. We're up to our eyeballs in turtles here. Who'd think? You'd guess they'd want to live down south. Hibernation seems like such a waste of life.

I'm reading about these various world leaders, in this case that guy in Canada, appeasing muslims that are creating havoc for peaceful law abiding people. So their hook, the reward, the promise, the impetus for their psychopathy and  amoral behavior is the prospect of getting 72 virgins in the afterlife? Who would even want that? And what do the women get when they explode? I should ask Grok. In their culture, the women probably go to hell, right?

I'm trying to remember why I thought I was going to need 200 potted geraniums other than to say I was smoking weed all winter. My wife and kid took a bunch over to that church of theirs. I guess now I do got the vibe  like Edward G. Robinson in Brother Orchid. It was an act of Christian charity of the sort I'm famous for...

"Woman dies of brain-eating amoeba after using tap water in nasal rinse device
Patient succumbed to rare Naegleria fowleri infection despite treatment, as CDC urges caution"

"A woman in Texas has died after contracting a fatal brain amoeba from contaminated water.

The patient, 71, had used a nasal irrigation device filled with unboiled tap water from an RV’s water faucet, according to an alert from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The "previously healthy" woman was staying at a local campground at the time, the agency stated.
Within four days of using the nasal rinse, the woman developed "severe neurologic symptoms," including fever, headache and altered mental status.

The patient was treated for a potential infection of primary amebic meningoencephalitis (PAM), a rare, deadly brain infection caused by Naegleria fowleri, also known as the brain-eating amoeba."

This is utterly horrible. The Military's Caisson service had to be halted for two years for the first time in history because of the shameful neglect of the horses due to Biden DEI appointees. But the stables and staff have been restored to their former honorable state by the Trump Admin.

" ...the Caisson operations were halted in May 2023 after four horses died in 2022 (two in February, and two in November). It soon became clear that the unit was not being run properly, and that the horses were suffering from neglect, unsanitary conditions, poorly fitting tack, lack of pasture time, and being fed low-quality feed. Jon Kreitz, Rear Admiral, U.S. Navy (Retired) said that the core of the issue was the lack of equestrian experience in the people who were tasked with caring for the horses.

“There wasn't a single soldier in the unit that had prior horse experience before being assigned there. They didn’t know what they didn’t know,”

"In February 2022, two Caisson horses, Mickey and Tony, died within 96 hours of each other. Both were euthanized due to poor conditions and feeding. Tony was found to have ingested 44 pounds of gravel and sand while Mickey had a gastrointestinal illness that went untreated. Another two horses died within the year, raising concerns within the Army and denying families this ceremonial tradition."
