Several Asian dog breeds only exist today because of breeding that took place outside of China. Those breeds of dogs are some of the oldest—thousands of years!— & they were nearly wiped out for good in less than two years of absolute chaos.
The Borzoi dog was similarly targeted by Communists in Russia for mass slaughter during the Revolution, & nearly eradicated.
Communists love to punish dogs for the “sins” of their owners because they represent the order the Communists are attempting to destroy."

Gonna get cold, gonna stay cold.

On the bright side you will not have to worry about ice storms this go round.

ATM they have me in the snow but the ice storm line is going to be close.  Bit of a wobble and I could be in a pickle.

The power company here sent half their crews down south to help deal with the ice.
