Actually this house is well built. They didn't have the technology or materials to build cheap houses 100 years ago - vastly different from the million-dollar McMansions that I work on - pressed paper, hollow doors, plated hardware...
This is wet plaster, old growth studs that are actual 2" by 4". It's solid.
The farm house was like that. Had it been taken care of it might have lasted another hundred years. I suspect that at the time it was built, it was one of the nicest in that area.
