Around that time also, the blacks were burning and looting as well. That is my first memory. We lived in Detroit and there was machine gun fire we could hear. We could see the flames and the sky glowing. There were soldiers in the streets, sand bags and guns on top of the Michigan Bell building...that was like a telephone exchange or something...where "operators" worked. The Army - the REAL Army was protecting that building and with like armor. There was a curfew too. I think 8 pm or something. They didn't sell gasoline or liquor. That happened in the US, in Detroit when I was a little kid. I saw it. It's that nuts again.
