I'm hard of hearing on one side. Half the time I can't understand what someone is saying unless they're on my good side so I just ignore them. You get to a certain age and you don't really need a lot of conversation.

I'm legally deaf in my left ear and the audiologist says I'm heading that way in my right ear. I can hear the sounds but I can't make out the words. I do a fair amount of lip reading. If someone's head is turned I can't understand much. Which is why I hardly watch television.
   Eff it. I like to turn the hearing aids up to the max when I'm walking in the woods though. I can hear the birds and animals better.
