No, dear journalist, no. The police officer used a PIT maneuver to force the driver out of control and into a tree. The driver didn’t “lose” control. The control was removed by the officer properly performing a maneuver designed specifically for that purpose. No judgement on whether it was the right thing to do, but if I did it to someone and they hit s tree and died, I’d be charged with vehicular homicide.."
