I used to have a phone that I took from my parent house. It weighed like 80 pounds. I think it was made of asphalt in like 1950. You could drop it off a building or bury it in the sand and it would work. It rang when other people called me and rang other people's phones when I called them. If I didn't want to talk, I unplugged it and no one cared. The bill was like twenty bucks a month. It was functional up until the 90's when I replaced it with about 630 subsequent phones made of plastic and glass with all kinds of functions I don't need and that have cost me thousands....I've thrown dozens of phones away, smashed dozens, and have dozens in drawers and boxes and piles...
