I'm glad I live in the country and wake up in the middle of the night. I'm going to start going to bed earlier so I can do more of this. The Moon is either full or near full and that is a great effect when it's cold and barren here. The trees in the woods next to the house are bare so the shadows in the bright moonlight are something to see. I was out there for a while, wandering around in my pajamas. The cats like it too. They definitely dig the moonlight. It makes all the animals happy. It's the perfect amount of light and the perfect color.  It's cold but not bad, just below freezing, no bugs, clean air, clear sky. Nights like this are too cool to waste staying inside.
