I always have kersosene. There's a kerosene pump at the gas station in town. Probably still a fair number of tractors burn that. We have that crock well in the yard too with a hand pump on it. That's a life saver. When we lose electricity...the water goes out too.

After the ice storms power was out region wide, and that included fuel stations. Plenty of fuel and kerosene but no way to pump it. What you had on hand was it for days while they rebuilt the power lines.

You would have thought that the state would have stepped in and arranged for tanks or generators but they did not.
