That's not true. If it were, rural Appalachia would be as violent and blighted as inner city Chicago or Detroit - maybe worse. I'm guessing people in that region are in deeper poverty than the ghetto-dwellers that augment their government remittance with the proceeds of their criminal endeavors.

The country is not violent it's peaceful, everyone that comes to the mountains usually becomes one with the mountains. The good majority of the time folks like that are helping each other and watching each other's backs.
