People talk about "diversity" (as it's commonly referenced) but they have no clue. Detroit auto-immigration is the model of that dynamic and I was part of it. I still am. No one else knows anything about it because the South, the West and the East are nothing like it. We have much more than monkeys because we earned it. We are the producers, the builders, the providers. We pay the freight. I walked  through all those factories with sparks flying and machines screaming. We build houses, move mountains. I am logistically more capable than 10, a hundred bureaucrats or pencil pushers. We have trucks, airplanes, engines. I can start a business as easily as a  Californian changes thair shoes. I was brought up to create my own fortune. It's a giant advantage.
