For a while, the British owned China and they found the best way to keep the Chinese from just being vile, offensive and rude was to keep the entire population lulled into a catatonic euphoria by selling them opium from their colony Afghanistan, whose simian population was also taught to walk upright and quit worshiping the devil for a brief moment in time.
