"The couple, who have been married since 1991, were also found alongside their dog..."

Didn't say if the dog was dead.

"New Disease Spreading Rapidly, Killing Dozens, After Children Ate a Bat"

"A mysterious illness is spreading in the northwest of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

As the Associated Press reports, World Health Organization doctors say that the illness has already led to 419 cases, including 53 deaths, since the latest outbreak began on January 21.

A particularly harrowing detail: in the majority of cases, doctors say, death occurs within just 48 hours of the onset of symptoms."

"....first outbreak in the town of Boloko after three children ate a bat carcass and died within two days, according to the AP. The children died after bleeding from the nose and vomiting blood."

My theory: 95 year-old Hackman's 63-year-old wife developed a terminal illness. Seeing no viable way of perpetuating their lives together in any reasonable way, they opted to take their own lives and that of the dog.

It would be nice if I could drive a pick-up truck...but not the faggy ones they make now. The older ones - one bench seat, full-size bed, dome hubcaps, AM radio, crank windows - and when you need to do something to it, you can climb on top of the engine and shut the hood behind you because there's room.

I have to take my piece of shit in to have the oil changed because it's like 6" off the ground. That thing isn't worth $40.

I like the way old cars smell...like over the years you've poured out beers on the floor as you were being pulled-over.  We all know the smell....smells like freedom.

As far as it goes in the residential building industry, things have been bleak over the past 18 months. I would say they have not been this bad since the Obama years...that "mortgage meltdown"...or whatever it was. Obama wiped me out. And Biden wiped me out again. First time around, I had no options. I drove an hour and a half at 6 am to get to shitty jobs that paid a hundred bucks a day because I had a wife and baby at home.  This time around, I don't think I have the juice for that but at least my wife works now. And having already survived one of these economies before, we know it's survivable. Hopefully better times are in store. It sees like they are. It helps to have a government that doesn't hate the nation.

I had a 1989 Dodge Ram 1500 with jacked springs and a tommy lift on the back. It was life preserver orange. Bought it from the State 'O Michigan Dept. of Transportation. That was the best vehicle I ever owned. $2500 and I tried every day for ten years to kill it and never did.
