The old people in Quebec when I was a kid were very protective of their Irish heritage. I remember being about 12-13 and meeting the, age of late 80s, Grandmother of one of my French cousins. She was fully bilingual in listening but not verbal. She had one sentence in English she spoke if she heard anyone refer to her as French: I’m not French, I’m Hirish. That is how she pronounced it. I found it so funny. Years later I remembered her and thought she was like one of those English bags on Monty Python. Down at the laundromat arguing about French philosophers.

No sense worrying about things you can't control.

Well I'm back on the walker. In 3 months they're going to put in a new hip. I have to wait 3 months to make the insurance company happy. I'm also having a wheelchair ramp put in. Beautiful day today but I can't walk for a long time. I really miss walking. The sicker I get the less I worry about politics though.
