Our society has become feudal. All the jobs are to serve corporations and the only people sharing in that wealth are the stockholders. The workers themselves do not have the ability to accumulate any kind of savings to participate in the stock holdings or profit sharing. Ultimately, we will all be renters. It's happening right now - Google it. Companies like Zillow...and Amazon are buying tens of thousands of houses - sight unseen and selling shares in their ownership. That is skewering housing prices and retarding private home ownership which is the core of the 'American Dream'

The weather's supposed to straighten out later today. At least it'll be back in the 30's. that seems normal.

Besides, Grok 4.1 voice mode is a girl.
Is that the chick with the English accent that responds with incredibly graphic but beautifully written pornography when I ask her about telescopes?

They are experimenting with those roads that are somehow electrified in such a way as to charge these electric vehicles as they are being driven on. They must emit some kind of radiation that is not good for living organisms.  But it's clear we have to change the way energy is procured and used - at least in developed nations. Seems like there's a general drift in that direction. The things we use consume less electricity. The batteries are getting better by the day. Solar, nuclear, fusion.... The technology is there. We just don't want to end up in a situation where we are dependent on the state for all of our needs and we ourselves own or control nothing. That is the danger of the Leftist ideology. Every experiment in that regard throughout human history has become a dystopian nightmare and ended in chaotic failure, slaughter and privation. But neither to we want to be beholden to giant monopolies controlled by a handful of oligarchs. Either way, we all end up in the same place...broke, unhealthy, demoralized and exploited.

The technical answers are only right about half the time. Which makes it unreliable all the time. All's it's doing is googling a lot faster than we can but it doesn't have sense or intuition. This trend will cause every news article, book, movie, graphic to be manufactured by a dozen or few dozen data management companies. Every conversation you have with the ai becomes the same and it is circular. I don't have a use for it and I probably wouldn't trust it if I did have a use for it. It seems like every news article I read now has a disclaimer about being written by ai - and it's awful. No one proof reads, no one fact checks. Right now, I would say there is not a single credible source of news available to Americans. Every single thing written is either biased or machine produced and can be discounted as worthless. Objectivity, fact-checking are now relics of the past.

I don't really watch tv or read the news. But I check a couple of sources very day that are used by general contractors looking for sub-contractors in various trades. That's my whole universe. I don't work for homeowners, I work for other contractors, use their material and bank on the fact that they don't want to spend any more time talking to me than I want to spend talking to them. Normally, there would be several pages to scroll through on any given morning but these days, maybe there'll be one line. It's bleak and it has been for a long time. And that really is like an indication to me of how the economy is really doing. It's acting like most people are living paycheck-to-paycheck and no one knows what to expect.  Building hundreds and hundreds of million dollar houses is somehow falling flat. Go figure. These dagos should be cranking out 150 thousand dollar bungalows that normal human beings could afford. I haven't worked on a house that was less than 800 grand in 10 years. It's ridiculous. And the two-story living rooms and foyers are probably counterproductive as well. The whole business is vulgar.

The municipalities push these kinds of developments because it generates huge tax revenue...also they get bribed by the dagos. Every couple of years the FBI comes in and all of the low-level county and township officials go to jail for taking bribes from developers, garbage haulers, tow services, etc.

"LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Federal authorities on Monday announced the arrests of four alleged members of an extremist group who are suspected of planning coordinated bombing attacks on New Year's Eve across Southern California.

Audrey Carroll, Zachary Page, Dante Gaffield and Tina Lai, all described as members of the anti-capitalist and anti-government group known as the "Turtle Island Liberation Front," were charged with of conspiracy and possession of an unregistered destructive device in connection with the alleged plot."

"...investigators uncovered posters and materials associated with TILF including one reading "DEATH TO ICE" and another reading "DEATH TO AMERICA, LONG LIVE TURTLE ISLAND & PALESTINE."..."

What a bunch of idiots. Now they're going to prison. So ends the revolution.  Turtle Island ? Imagine being this delusional.  What an introduction to reality they're about to receive.

Interesting. I wrote this a couple years ago on a different forum:

"Post American Era
« on: May 08, 2023, 08:57:09 pm »
Quote
Decline of the American Empire

Quite obviously the global community has entered post-American Era.

With the fall of the Soviet Empire beginning with the Solidarity movement in Gdansk in 1980, the dismantling of the Berlin Wall in 1989 and culminating with the dissolution of the Soviet Union itself in 1992, the fundamental utility of America as a bloc ended as well. But as is our nature, Americans have chosen to remain cloistered in our American-centric bubble as if we are the only nation and people that matter and everyone else's value is based on their relative position in our universe.

Once regarded as the guardians of the free world, now we have become a bloated, dumbed-down caricature of our former selves. Americans are portrayed globally largely by the cartoon like ignorance of the always-angry Guns & God crowd, waving their flags, thanking 'the troops' and always harping about a Constitution they never read and would not understand. They see any challenge to their clown-like sense of entitlement as an infringement on their "rights" - which they view as having been bestowed upon them by God via the sacred founders of America - and as it has been told to them by their equally as ignorant and intoxicated forbearers.

America has devolved into a nation that wages war simply for the sake of doing so and is mired in delusional nationalism and faux-'patriotism'. We view the world as an 'us or them' arrangement where we must dominate rather than cooperate or coexist. Like it or not, we are the most widely despised nation on Earth. Even our allies have become weary of our self centeredness.

So here we are. Every urban center across the nation has become a free-fire zone. But rather than address the real problem, we vilify the out-gunned law enforcement personnel in the manner that a dying patient would blame a doctor for causing the chronic illness that bedevils them. If anyone is bold enough to point out the real cause of the deep societal maladies with which we are afflicted, they are 'cancelled' because truth does not jibe with the prevailing narrative. The First Amendment, enshrining the most sacred virtues upon which our republic was founded, has been discarded utterly.

We are on the cusp of a great humbling. And although it will be a humiliating experience for many and even a life-wrecking experience for some, it will be what is ultimately best for the world."

I wrote that during the depths of the Biden depravity.

Christmas is next week. Another year of dreaming that somehow some day things will get easier but what we do have and can count on seems to get slimmer and more expensive.
