So far, nothing 'smart' has improved my day to day life over the old dumb appliances and machines. I don't need them making decisions for me or giving more choices than I need. I don't want a screen in my car or more options than 'on' and 'off' on a light switch. I want a phone that makes and receives phone calls but doesn't play videos or tell me where to turn. I don't want my car to shut off at stop lights unless it's just stalling and I'd rather be able to start it with a scrrew driver than a GD BUTTON !

If I lived in Florida, I'd have a golf cart. That's what I'd drive. I'm sick of cars.  Too expensive, too complex, too needy.

I just tried claude’s public version of Mythos. It’s called Fable. And holly shit! That thing is crazy smart. It took one look at my AI project and was like yup this , this, and this wrong, and we will fix it no problem. Phone app is no problem piece of cale, and yeah, your AI will learn on his own i  no time no worries. In one day, this motherfucker  built short term memory and sleep cycle with long term memory with a memory recall while doing its nails.

I seem to be moving in quite the opposite direction. I recently smashed my iphone (SE) on the floor and resolved to never have a phone again...until I remember those verification texts you get for every GD account you have. I'm going off grid. Technology is needlessly complicating our lives and sucking the creative fluids right out through our eyeballs.

If I could give you advice as someone that pretends to be a psychologist on the internet quite frequently, I would advise you to smoke weed or eat gummies. It's so much more rewarding. It uncomplicates life and relieves you of mental oppression.

...and then like draw, write and play the piano, your're good at all that.

I thought about it. Most of the places I need to go to involve 4 and eight lane highways with lots of traffic. And it's hot.

Other people's expectations are like a burden to bear and it's not even my gig. It's summer and there's a pile of other people's problems I have to hack through before I even get to my own.

I don't even want to leave my own property again. Oddly, my wife seems to be encouraging me. It seems like a trap.

Fck. I'd give my nuts to go back to having my dog, my 1989 bright fckn orange Dodge pick-up with the tommy-lift gate, and more money than responsibilities. Not having to give a shit about anything except brushing your teeth and feeding your dog is like being able to fly compared to what comes when the bubble bursts and you have grow-up.

I remember after my prolonged single-hood, thinking wow all my married friends were right about everything. After the kid was born I thought wow all my friends with kids were right about everything. Now I'm getting old ....You bastards.

I had that old pick-up until about 10 years ago. It had 300k miles on it when I bought it from the State...DOT? I don't know who was driving it except it had that lift gate which turned me into a one-man army. I could stand on that platform with a heavy machine, pull the lever and jack up probably 1000 pounds...machines, building materials... I paid $2500.  1989 Dodge Ram with heavy duty springs and the tommy lift, cassette deck, like an iron cage behind the cab, big tool box.  I felt like a cop or a soldier...some kind of official apperatchik... I waved to construction workers.

If that thing broke, I'd ride my bike to the auto parts store with an empty back pack and flip through the giant parts catalog. Finally the Greek guy that owned the joint just gave me the book.  Lots of room under the hood....oh fck do I miss that ! Carburetor..big old round air cleaner...I could fix a machine like that with a roll of duct tape and a butter knife.

I would drive down dirt roads with the windows down, my dog barking and like a pint of that Seagrams 7 between my legs. Drink that shit right out of the bottle.

I used to like drinking out of the bottle in my old truck on the dirt roads behind my house when there was a blizzard going on. If you're buzzed driving through a blizzard on a dark country road, the way the falling snow looks in your headlights makes it seem like you're flying a spaceship and the snowflakes are stars...if that's where your mind wants to take you....like an autostereogram. Please note: Do not try this on the expressway!
