I'm comfortable in big cities and also being disconnected from everything, taking care of chickens and wildlife. Ultimately, I love both...because it's the world we live in. I suppose it's how and where I grew up...70 miles from the City...

You know how I feel about big cities, I was not comfortable to start with but when two men had a fist fight over who was the boss on the job I decided that was not the place for me. I piled in my little Datsun 510 and boogied out of there, didn't even stay for my day's pay.  Limped back broke, hungry, and on fumes.

You need to experience a big city with me. I have seen sh!te go down, when I was in my 20's. I've been to Studio 54. Didn't drink or do drugs...just took in the experience for what it was or how it was presented in that moment.

Look, I am a very trusting person. I am also very adventurous...when I travel to wherever. I plan a day to explore by myself. I also know limits and safe zones. I'll be in Baltimore on 04/02..staying in Fells Point and then taking Amtrak to Penn Station and connecting to head up to Rhinecliff.

Forever, where ever I stay, I get to know a city by foot, it used to be running and now walking.

Cities have a nasty vibration that I intensely dislike, never quiet, always humming.   Late at night you can actually hear it in Huntington.  I don't reckon you can fix that.

On a very superficial level for US students that may be true. When I was at CU - the department I worked for was number one or number two in the world, competing with UC Berkeley. We had grad students from all over the world. Nothing to do with zip codes or DNA. I met parents from Tibet, Persia (yes that's where he said he was from), China. Russia.

Eh, as a general rule I expect that it is mostly true in that a Zip can indicate social and financial standing.

Absolutely...it's the heartbeat of many people living in a consolidated space.

Have you always been Liberally minded?

No, In my younger days I was a libertarian bigot.  I grew up.   Now on my way to being a commie revolutionary!  LOL Not that far gone but I sure am not getting conservative as I age.

Thinking about it, I reckon I reacted to rush limbraugh opposite of how most did. I was already leaning away at that point but rush tipped the scales and my fav conservative talkers all went nuts in an attempt to match his salary.

Personally, my favorite students were the non traditional students (not born with a silver spoon in their mouth). They were Vets, or had taken some years off after High School Graduation and experienced the world.  I had one student that had saved up every penny she could and put herself through college. She graduated when she was 28. She worked many jobs and paid for every class she took. She came into my office and looked like she just needed a hug - some times it's all about the struggle.

I'm a hugger! I just melt.

I'm a bit older than you...I voted for Reagan while still in college...my first vote, completely swayed by my parents. Then moved to CO and have been Liberally minded since. Never been a Rush fan. I would tune in every so often just to here what Conservatives were listening to. He certainly had a gift.

Good for her!   Personally I was 100% done with school somewhere around 7th-8th grade. Oh every now and again a good teacher would get me interested again but a bad one would be right behind to remind me that I was sick of fighting with them and the admin.  I coasted to 12th and quit just before I graduated just to p-iss them off.

I cheated though, told a few lies and got my GED before I quit.

I looked into collage but saw the same BS so didn't bother. Did a few months of community collage, ran into the same BS and walked away.
