Researchers in Canada detected the fluctuations in the Earth's magnetosphere on instruments deployed 2.7 km under the ocean surface. Ocean Networks Canada, which has a series of sensors in both the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, made the detection. In a March storm, a compass shifted from +30 to -30 degrees, and researchers initially thought it was an earthquake.."
