There's nothing wrong with that. In elementary school, we learned to sing Battle Hymn of the Republic
and Dixie and there was zero stigma. It was included in the genre of patriotic songs. There was no stigma attached to it. The Civil War was presented as brother-against-brother and that is still the way I view it. It is ridiculous to apply this absurd 'woke' bullshit to 160-year-old culture for the purposes of retroactively "cancelling" people and artifacts of Americana. The Southerners that wish to do so have every right to "celebrate" their heritage as any of us. This need to suppress and edit history is ugly and hateful.
