"..."Christian" family moves to Russia to escape LGBTQ, and now can't wait to leave their living hell
SemDem, author

The patriarch of a right-wing Canadian family of eight had just about enough of the gay people existing in his country. “We didn't feel safe for our children there in the future anymore. There's a lot of left-wing ideology, LGBTQ, trans, just a lot of things that we don't agree with that they teach there now, and we wanted to get away from that for our children.”

Yeah, if there’s one place that’s just not safe for kids, it’s Canada. Russia would be sooo much safer.

So mom and dad sold everything they had to move to sunny Russia to raise their kids in “orthodox” values. They also gladly took donations on their social media platform from fellow right-wingers so they could live in Putin’s wonderland. They did all of this just three weeks ago, and Russian officials assured them that they would work with them to get them established, and even help them get a farm. Long story short, they lived happily ever after.

Except they didn’t.

First off, the Russian bank where they moved their funds immediately froze their assets. The amount of money seemed suspicious, as I guess it would since most Russians outside of Putin’s circle are dirt poor. As a result, the family doesn’t have money to live on, and those nice Russian officials disappeared.

Since no one in the family speaks Russian they’ve had a bear of a time trying to argue for their money since Russia doesn’t require any bank, or any business, to hire English translators. In the meantime, they discovered that Russia is a pretty damn miserable place to be right now.

A Russian reporter interviewed the mom—likely for a story on how the corrupt, liberal West was forcing Christians to flee to Mother Russia to the warm embrace of Vladimir Putin. But the mom forgot where she was and instead spoke her mind:

"I'm very disappointed in this country at this point. I'm ready to jump on a plane and get out of here. We've hit the first snag where you have to engage logic in this country and it's very, very frustrating."

Hoooo boy.

They just arrived and already she’s insulted Russia.  Now, I’m not saying Russia doesn’t have freedom of the press, but it’s just the freedom to praise Putin and his country. Anything that resembles criticism in Russia is NOT taken as kindly as it is in our Western godless dystopias. I’m also not suggesting that Russian officials paid the family a visit to remind them of where they are, but I will point out the dad immediately posted a video saying that his wife misspoke.

In that video, he reiterated that no, Russia is really, really great (subtext: please don’t push me out of a window) and he spoke about hoping to resolve the issue with the bank. The commenters weren’t so sure, or kind. They pointed out that the bank will likely never release their funds and it is more likely that he will be recognized as a foreign agent..."

"...Ukraine's Air Force takes down six Russian warplanes in one week

...Over the past three days, Ukraine's Air Force has destroyed six Russian planes – four Su-34 and two Su-35 fighters, amounting to an estimated cost to the Russian military of around $400 million.
On February 17th, Ukrainian Air Force reported the downing of three enemy aircraft in the east – two Su-34 fighter-bombers and one Su-35 fighter. By Sunday morning, another Russian fighter had been added to the tally. "Around six o'clock, the warriors of the Air Command 'East' grounded another Russian aircraft – a Su-34 fighter-bomber in the eastern direction," press service of the Ukrainain Air Force noted.

However, the count did not stop there. On Monday, February 20th, residents of occupied Mariupol reported explosions and plane crashes at sea. Later, on social media, it was reported that signals from two Russian aircraft vanished from radars. Eventually, the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Air Force reported that they had destroyed two Russian planes, which had been hitting Ukrainian forces' positions with guided air bombs – one Su-34 fighter-bomber and one Su-35S fighter.
Consequently, Russia has lost six fighters over Ukraine in one week, with total combat aircraft losses increasing from 332 to 338..."

He did, and I have! 👍 However I'm not T, and the post was humorous in nature, as evidenced by the "info" in parentheses!

"...Supreme Court declines to undo sanctions on pro-Trump 2020 campaign lawyers...

...“Sanctions are required to deter the filing of future frivolous lawsuits designed primarily to spread the narrative that our election processes are rigged and our democratic institutions cannot be trusted,” Parker wrote in the 110-page opinion.

The Trump lawyers were ordered to pay back attorneys’ fees accumulated by Michigan state officials and Detroit in seeking the sanctions — and to take legal education classes. Parker also referred her decision to disciplinary authorities where each attorney is admitted for “investigation and possible suspension or disbarment.”..."

"...The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to revive a lawsuit from three House Republicans after their pay was docked for not complying with a pandemic-era mask requirement on the chamber floor.

In a brief order without any noted dissents, the court let stand a lower ruling that tossed the constitutional challenge filed by Reps. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and Ralph Norman (R-S.C.).

The three conservative lawmakers were fined $500 in May 2021 after flouting the House floor mask mandate that was put in place amid the COVID-19 pandemic, kicking off a years-long attempt by the trio of lawmakers to get the penalties lifted.

House rules fined lawmakers $500 for their first infraction with the mask mandate, and $2,500 for subsequent breaches. It would be withdrawn from their yearly pay. Greene racked up more than $100,000 in fines, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. .."
