Sunday already. Generally speaking, summer goes by a lot faster than winter. There is an exact number of hours left in all of our lives where the weather is nice and we are awake. That is the most valuable (non-renewable) commodity we have. The guy that does my taxes told me that. He's an accountant, Irish, drinks a lot. Great accountant. I never met anyone that was that enthusiastic about accounting. He actually tells accounting stories and they're hilarious. He's not very healthy though...he's been smoking and drinking as long as I've known him...and I've known him a long time. Anyhow, he said he's going to focus on the enjoyment of his remaining days as a way of maximizing his return on that valuable asset. That's pretty sound advice.  His brother's a lawyer. More fun to drink with than to go to court with....and  I've done both...as a client and a co-defendant.  He said that living below your means greatly decreases the likelihood that you will ever become homeless.

That's all you need to know about  life. the rest is commentary.   Taken together, those two pearls of wisdom are a prescription for a stable life from the two most unstable people I have ever met. I'm going to prune some trees today. That seems kind of zen-like, feng shui and so forth. Smoke some reefer, drink some coffee, trim some trees.

There used to be a flower plantation near our house. That was a nice feature in a neighborhood. You could go over there and pay $5 a head and they'd give you a mason jar and a pair of pruning shears. They went bust during the pandemic. It's sad. They'll probably put condos or a data center there now.

If I had more ambition and some more equipment, I'd plant a field of flowers. The thing is, per square foot, flowers are way way more valuable than vegetables.

This place is down the road too.

The guy that owns this operation lives on the property - I'd be growing weed. He probably does. He looks like he does.

They start working probably in March, open for Easter and close after Halloween. Those are great hours. You get to skip winter. And it's clean living.

There's a sunflower plantation around here too somewhere. That's cool to drive by.

Back in the 70's -80's  there was a straight looking fellow who ran a medium size greenhouse up the road, turned out he grew weed.  Darn good weed as I found out when his son got old enough for jr high.
