I'm looking forward to it advancing to the point where we can just live in a fantasy world without resorting to substance abuse.

It's real...Google it...like "First and Second sleep" or "biphasic sleep".  It's the way we're supposed to be....all mammals are.
This did not mostly change until electricity. Overhead lighting meant more work could be done. Industrialization only sped it up.

By now, I’ve probably transcended the need for actual physical human contact. I’d gladly live as a cartoon. I’m practically one now.

How nice it would be if every one of your needs could be met electronically like ordering shit from Amazon.

I wonder if you can use this as a defence in court:

"(WXYZ) — As the days grow shorter and the weather turns cooler, many people may feel their mood dip. For those who struggle with SAD, or seasonal affective disorder, the fight against it starts now.

I see a lot of seasonal affective disorder, or SAD in Michigan as we get much less sunlight and daylight in winter.

Now, these mood changes can affect how you think, feel and function day to day. But it’s more than just feeling a little down. It’s actually a type of depression that follows a seasonal pattern, often starting in the fall and lasting through winter.

For symptoms, people with SAD may have persistent sadness, low energy, sleep problems, loss of interest in activities, social withdrawal and changes in appetite, like craving more carbs or gaining weight."

".....open your blinds early to let in natural light. If you need more light exposure, light therapy is a great option. It’s a bright-light box that you sit in front of for about 30 minutes a day."

I don’t think I could do a sleep test either. I’d never fall asleep.
I only slept three hours when I had the last sleep test.

Supposed to hose myself down with antibacterial soap before my surgery Wednesday morning.... Even my hair. Gonna be a long three hour trip to the hospital, then back. Can't eat anything tomorrow they said. Not after 7 am.
Going to have to go about 36 hours without eating. I don't care I don't eat that much anymore.

You control your mind. Letting any other entity control your mind is slavery.

Cats are smart. They just communicate differently. Dogs are highly vocal pack animals so they respond to talking.  I can tell Gus understands me.
They understand as much as dogs do. They just don’t respond unless it is of personal interest to them. They like  our voices.
