I’m still clinging to this vision of attaining some kind of spiritual clarity or transcendent peace just because I deserve it for enduring whatever it is I think I’ve endured when I’m laying awake conjuring up reasons to feel sorry for myself. Salvation through suffering is the recurrent theme of Western moral drama. The good news is you get to sin your ass off and then make it look like redemption when you just become too much of a burn out to carry on. So I’m obsessed with shedding my material concerns and living a simple monastic life free of distraction or disturbance. Winning the lottery would really facilitate the process.
