From within the framework of the way I was brought up, what we were taught in public schools in Michigan, I regard tearing down Confederate statues is criminal and immoral. We were taught Robert E. Lee was an American hero and a person of high moral stature and great honor.  It believe that. We were also taught Grant was kind of rough, hard drinking. I don't believe that. He didn't get to the positions he attained by being a rogue. As an American, I find the whole business of tearing down statues, renaming streets, schools and sports teams to be highly offensive.  The"protesters" should be dealt with in the manner of Kent State and Attica. Order needs to be maintained. They are enemies of the state.
