Old houses do not have the electrical infrastructure to accommodate contemporary life.  100 years ago, if there was electricity,  it was limited to like a couple of lights and a fan that did next to nothing. Now, Jesus, you need 20 outlets in every room. There's certainly an updated code for that. Most of this stuff is kind of low-draw, so it doesn't really matter if you're plugging ten things into one of those power strips. Anything with a motor or that heats up is different.

Another irritating feature of this environment  is that it is getting harder to sort through common appliances to find ones that do NOT connect to your internet service...for whatever reasons. I don't want my GD refrigerator talking to the Chinese. It's all so unnecessary and it is absolutely perishable. Electronics have a shelf-life. None of it improves your life. Back-up cameras and "bluetooth" are unnecessary distractions that add 25% onto the price of an already over-priced car.

Now everything is adding an "AI" feature.  It has made common life activities like watching tv, using a phone, driving a car, etc...a tedious, intrusive waste of time. You have to wonder what kind of radiation field all this shit creates. I know if I hang a battery operated clock too close to an led tv, the field will slow the motor in the clock down. And the radiation from an led light bulb in a garage door motor will interfere with the transmitter. I have a device that measures electromagnetic fields. If you walk around an ordinary house with it, it's scary.  We're immersed in it 24/7.  Who know what that shit does to those people walking around talking to the wind with those things clipped to their ears?
