people around here bring in goats to clear vegetation. There's actual goat rental services that will do this. Our problem here - huge problem is with these giant invasive 'phragmites'. They're dense reeds that get maybe 12 feet tall. They spread underground and have wax on their leaves so ordinary Round-up doesn't faze them. Pluse, they spread so fast you can't keep up. The Army started burning them in the fall but that just made them come back stronger.

I'm sure they're everywhere by now. I first saw them around 20 years ago. I didn't know what they were so I took a couple to the DNR and they didn't know. Now they've taken over the state. There's pretty much nothing you can do. They spread like grass.
