The idea behind the giant ultra-wide angle eye-pieces is to get an "immersive" view, referred to as "spacewalking".   It's the best of both worlds, resolution and field.   The 14 mm, 100 degree eyepiece in the 8" telescope will magnify 145 x but should also fit the entire Moon in it's field of view.
