Reposting my response on TP's forum -

When you think about what Epstein did - he was a pimp to the socially elite. He used sex to control. He was a puppet master. Extremely sordid and very dark, catering to the most base needs, and he thought that he could get away with it.

The sad thing is there are many out there that celebrate this, using underage girls. That's part of the MAGA cult. Seeing MTG take a stand, heartens me. I don't agree with her politics but I stand beside her as a human being. Good for her.

I barely survived my surgery but that is another story. Our best friend Betty passed away a few days ago she was cremated and we will have a service for her February 28th there will be at least 500 people there she touched many lives. One of the lives that she touched was a dog named Oliver or Ollie. Despite the fact that she was a vegan she spent an hour a day cooking up tasty morsels of meat for the dog even though she didn't really like even being around meat. She pampered the dog and she loved the dog and the dog gave the love right back to her. To say that the dog is upset would be a huge understatement. He started wailing as soon as she passed in her bedroom. Although he never used to sleep in the bed he now sleeps in the bed where she used to be next to Stanley who now has to get used to the fact that his wife of 60 years is gone forever. Betty was strong and youthful acting right up until the cancer took that all away about a month before she passed fortunately she didn't experience much pain and we thank God for that. It's funny how a little 5 foot tall 80 lb woman can have such a profound effect on so many people there were probably be at least 500 people at her service February 28th. As for me I still wonder that the miracle that occurred between her and that dog she loving the dog and the dog giving the love right back to her.

Several years ago I bought one as an Xmas present for my Mom. She thought it was the dumbest idea, until she started using it and then she fell in love with it.
It wouldn’t survive my huskies.

Death is the new retirement

I'm not retiring any time soon - having the time of my life. I find age makes me pause and enjoy every moment. Take nothing for granted, squeeze every drop that you can from this life.

I'm sick of working. I want to work from home - like a meth lab or counterfeiting

You can't even grow weed. Maybe stay away from dangerous chemicals. Just saying

Had to take a shower at our neighbors house where the lady just died that was our friend. Because our pipes are still frozen .Anyway, of course ollie, the dog was there and decided to help me out by  cramming his nose up my rear end after I got out of the shower. He’s always real helpful that way.

It was 5° below zero on the front porch the other day. That did the trick along with 2 1/2 feet of snow….. It was probably warmer in town, but we live a long way from town. We live in the boondocks on the side of the mountain.. it’s been a while since the temperature exceeded freezing… anyway Stanley ran power out to the dog house. Ollie lives in and so the dog always has heat. Stan doesn’t let being 80 years old Stan in the way of whatever he wants to do he’s at the church now with his bulldozer, dozing up the ice and snow so people can come in for Tuesday night Bible study. Betty made up a bunch of food for him ahead of time and froze it until he got used to fixing food for himself after she died.. She left him instructions on how to cook stuff. She was mainly worried about how he would get along after she passed away.

The exact moment a news station switches from black and white to color TV for the first time, April 14, 1967.

I remember back in the early sixties everyone went down to a neighbor's house to take a look at this new marvel called color television. I believe the Flintstones was on. Star Trec and Batman came later. the reason for all of the hideous colors on tv back then.

Later on, a girlfriend's father had one. It had a radio active warning emblem on the back. The thing emitted radiation. And, I don't think you could run a vacuum cleaner near it for some reason. Maybe it interfered with the signal.
