Heard a woman on the radio talking about how the company she works for mandates the use of AI.    At least several times a day.

This is being pushed so hard that there has to be some nefarious goal.   Communist or Fascist world domination or some such

Fortunately, not the case (yet) where I work. A lot of what I do you need a clearance for. That gets into muddy waters when you allow AI access. It has not happened yet. Scary to think of the day that AI will gain access of it's own accord to secured info.

How's your dog? How is your daughter!?!?! She'll be coming home soon!

😊
My wife is leaving in a couple days to go pick her up. Then they're going to Cape Cod, Mystic...wherever.  I'm staying home and pretending I can afford to pay for all of it....hence the ultra-cheap and legal Michigan reefer.

I touched the door to his resting place and seriously felt a fuzzy energy with my fingertips. I don't believe in that kind of stuff but it gave me pause.

That's cool!  I don't think I have ever seen the tomb.

I'm going to the CU individual Departmental Graduation on Saturday. These students were finishing up their Freshman year when I started my current job 3 1/2 years ago. It will be great to see everyone. I try to go back every year.

Cape Cod, Mystic - know them well.

I don't trust AI at all. It consistently gives me information that I can tell immediately is inaccurate.  I'm sure the military and CIA has a version that does better.

I actually functioned better before electronics...I knew to the penny what was going on, had files on everything, knew exactly where every penny was going, did my own taxes plus did the taxes for my s-corp, did the books, payroll... when you do everything by hand you become so familiar with the material that you memorize it.  Kids now read and write in a hobbled, abbreviated, topical and nonsensical fashion appropriate to their 'social media' universe. They exist three-quarters in a virtual reality - no job skills, no social skills, their personalities are formed by video games and doom scrolling.

All of it...the internet, streaming, social media, 'devices', ai, virtual reality, smart phones, smart tvs and appliances.... some of it is very usefull and life enhancing but the effects on human psychology individually and on the macro societal level outweighs the benefits. Like I said....at the end of the day, net-net it's a fucking plague.

Theoretically, I just have to keep it together for three more years. Once I get my kid through school and launched into her own life my work here will be done. Then I don't give a shit what happens. You know...like a salmon or something.
