The power grid will collapse if we go to electric cars.
Especially out west. They're already having problems.

They still have to generate that power too and that causes pollution - unless they perfect fusion reactors.

Yeah but within the framework of my distorted world-view, Detroit isn't part of Michigan...or even the US. It's a hostile 3rd World city-state within our borders. But it's contained.  And containment (like nuclear waste) is unfortunately the best we can hope for for places like Detroit...or Cleveland...Chicago, etc etc.
But you are from Detroit, no?

It's discouraging. But we have to keep hope. We have families and homes. We have no choice but to keep moving forward.
You are  very philosophical and optimistic tonight. Not cute.

So they think you're an idiot? Man you gotta contest this.

36 and change just to be hooked up. another 4 for who knows what, a fee, fee?  The temptation to plumb straight in bypassing the locked meter, like we used to do when we were young and poor, is growing....

You know, it wasn't more than 10 years ago, I was living in my little house and my overhead was like 800 bucks a month. That included everything...taxes, insurance, cable....everything except groceries and gasoline.
That was deal-able because groceries and gas weren't bad. Now, everything's doubled.  I don't know if that's the government or not.
It’s the money prinring.

Yes. But the version of Detroit I am from no longer exists. It was nice. We moved out when I was a child.

If you don't make the grade for college, you're sent to trade school or an apprenticeship program instead of high school.

I still remember kids (high school age) on a scaffold eating a sandwich and a flip top beer. Masonry or brick laying was big back then.
Yes, after 7th grade we had to apply for specialized high school. I went to natural science majors. Whoever didn’t make the cut went to that ”dumb kid” high school in town.

I'm not familiar with FEMA. It's the focus of some kind of conspiracy I'm told.

Good gravy, I am about to pay $40.53 for the 10 gals of water I used at the holler last month. WTF?
My water bill is $150 a month.

You should have some sympathy for your roots.
