I'm a bit older than you...I voted for Reagan while still in college...my first vote, completely swayed by my parents. Then moved to CO and have been Liberally minded since. Never been a Rush fan. I would tune in every so often just to here what Conservatives were listening to. He certainly had a gift.

He was great at what he did, unfortunately what he did was evil.   Reagan lost me 2 years in.

"...Human brains are getting larger. Study participants born in the 1970s had 6.6% larger brain volumes and almost 15% larger brain surface area than those born in the 1930s. The increased brain size may lead to an increased brain reserve, potentially reducing overall risk of age-related dementias..."

"...I’ve always said, reading Donald Trump’s Truth Social feed is like a window into his soul (if he had one). You can tell what kind of mood he’s in based on how and what he posts. And today? Phew. He is angry, he is scared. And can you blame him? His life is truly a freaking mess. Yes, he’s rich. But being rich won’t matter if you’re behind bars and with all the problems he’s already causing in his CRIMINAL New York trial that could actually happen.

Trump woke up this morning thinking it would be a great idea to attack the judge’s daughter before his criminal trial in New York, which starts on April 15. Judge Juan Merchan let Trump know straight away that his tolerance for bullshit is at an end.

This morning, Merchan issued a pretrial order ripping Trump’s legal team for repeated efforts to stall and postpone the trial. He followed that up later in the day by hitting Trump with a gag order, which prohibits him from disparaging any court personnel or their family members. It’s hard to believe an order would be necessary for this. You know, you’d think most people would abide by societal rules about common decency. But nope…this is Trump..."

Good for her!   Personally I was 100% done with school somewhere around 7th-8th grade. Oh every now and again a good teacher would get me interested again but a bad one would be right behind to remind me that I was sick of fighting with them and the admin.  I coasted to 12th and quit just before I graduated just to p-iss them off.

I cheated though, told a few lies and got my GED before I quit.

I looked into collage but saw the same BS so didn't bother. Did a few months of community collage, ran into the same BS and walked away.

I will always be a student...love learning...and it's not always about the subject matter. There's a lot to learn about interpersonal communication skills.

Oh I love learning, just don't care for any school I have attended.

If it was all on paper, I would likely be a doctor. LOL

I love to read so way back in the day when I started a class I would read the whole book in a week or so and I smoked the tests but that was not good enough for moat of my teachers. I had many of them threaten me if I read ahead of the lessons.

Never cared mush for homework either, quit doing that about 5th grade

You don't raise 4 kids and not have an MD PhD.

With my kids I've experienced everything from Epilepsy to asymptomatic Strep Throat - Rheumatic Fever and everything in between, broken bones, stitches are easy peasey. I took a Child Psychology class at CU when my youngest was around 1 and my oldest was 13. I was buying diapers and menstrual cycle stuff for my oldest while shopping for groceries. I wanted to understand the dynamics of how kids think and also trying to understand learning disabilities. My second daughter had epilepsy and a "non-verbal learning disorder". I wanted to be the best, most informed Mom I could be.

I meant like a PHD but I have done a lot of MDing.  ODs, broken bones, on down to scrapes. If it doesn't require special equipment, tests, or drugs, I got it. LOL

I wish I had known you back then.

In second grade - we were learning to add and subtract. I asked my Dad if you could could subtract a bigger number from a smaller number - he said yes! You get a negative number. I went back the next day and told my teacher - she said that was something I would learn but for now "No". In that moment - I trusted my Dad and knew that the education system was somehow flawed.

My Dad taught me Calculus in 6th grade. My Dad was a superhero. I miss him.

Math, not a subject I ever cared for. I learned enough to do the things I like to do that needed some math then ignored the rest.

Fun story, had an older teacher for 7th period math 11th grade. We clashed the first 10 mins of the first day over the way I was sitting. After that I would walk into class and he would immediately send me to the office where I would flirt with the girls who volunteered there until it was time to go home.    That whole semester no one ever questioned why I was there. LOL   Needless to say, I failed that class.

MarkJ!!! I was completely straight laced. Pleated skirts, knee high socks and penny loafers...I never wore jeans to school until senior year and I had to explain to my Mom I had three finals in a day and wanted to be comfortable.

Math and ultimately Physics were always my thing. Math is the purist way to explain the Universe. It's all numbers, equations.

This is too funny!
