Poor John Denver ski'd into a tree. Oh wait...That was Sonny Bono. I always get those two mixed up because one is short and Italian and the other is completely different. Poor Sonny.  John Denver hang glided into the side of a mountain.  They're both a couple of saps if you ask me. Sonny must be from Michigan. I was friends with his cousin Aldo.
John Denver flew his experimental aircraft straight into the ocean at 500 miles an hour. This caused him to be discouraged from breathing. Sonny Bono was incapable of getting out of the way of a tree which had not ever moved in 30 years. That lady that was married to Liam Neeson did the same thing she skied right into a big tree.

I saw Sonny and Cher at the Astrodome during the rodeo years ago. Even then she was a bitch. They had a place on stage they would go into to change costumes and you could hear her cursing him out inside.

I read that he was really intelligent - wrote, produced, etc. I think he wrote a song for the Stones.

The only way to make a good living as a solo contractor is to have a steady pipeline of work. Subbing for one of the big box stores or hooking up with builders. I think I lasted two years doing tile for Home Depot before that just turned into a vicious world of  hate and loathing.  Then I did two years as the backsplash king for Lowe's until the inevitable explosion. They are hateful toward their contractors and they have no idea what they are doing. It's just a ticking time bomb. And the way way over-charge the customers. It makes you hate life. Doing new builds is bliss...and it's just straight-up money for work, no drama. Everyone's real professional and knows what they're doing.

I feel better now for forgetting to pay for that $250 worth of plants I got at Lowe's. Man my memory isn't worth a damn anymore...

I don't really have sympathy for people that ski into trees, fly into the surface of the ocean or get hit by trains. It's all so easily preventable.

I watch people getting hit and killed by trains on YouTube. Guess you were one of the lucky ones. Most of them look like a piece of wet spaghetti when it's over. With extra tomato sauce.

In 1961 my big sister's friend was flying his glider and I guess he hit a bad air pocket cuz he went straight down to the ground at over a hundred miles an hour and at that point he quit being alive.  Later that year my other sister's boyfriend's mom got hit by a train and killed instantly.

How do you not see that coming? Right off the bat there's train tracks and you're on them. Trains are like as big as buildings and a mile long. The ground shakes, they have a horn. There's like a rush of wind generated by them. In short, they are one of the most noticeable moving man-made object you will ever encounter during a normal lifetime.

Back in the 1950s and 1960s if you got hit or you got in a really bad car wreck you were pretty well going to be dead or hurt and maimed for life because let me tell you they didn't have much in the way of safety equipment. A lot of them just got impaled on the steering wheels. You know what happened to people that went through the windshield before they had safety glass. A lot of people got thrown out of the car and then the car rolled over on them. A lot of them were trapped in the car and burned alive. And a lot of people just brushed their teeth on the dashboard which was usually made of solid metal and bashed their brains out too. Or just caved their faces in. Believe it or not I know a couple of guys that were working on their cars underneath the car without jack stands they just use the jack that came with the car.... That ended badly....

Probably a lot of these train and car fatalities are caused by people just wanting to commit suicide.

I know a guy that got hit by a train. He got an enormous amount of money because even though he was drunk, drove around the gate and it was clearly his fault, somehow they proved that there was an unrelated defect in the crossing gate and it was easier to just make this fool a millionaire than fight a protracted court battle with a team of thousand dollar an hour lawyers. But the trade off is, he's all kinds of fck'd up. He was in a coma for like a year. He has brain damage. It's awful.

A whole lot of people are killed every year because they don't know how to use a damn ladder. I saw one guy saw a big limb off of a tree... The same limb that the ladder was leaning on... He beat the limb to the ground and then the limb fell on his ass....
